I started these paintings as meditative dialogues for my daughter, a modern day wishing well shaped by a life beside the ocean. These paintings have brought space for me to explore work that stems from deep within my naʻau, contrary to the very logical academic art background I was trained in. Each piece is a visual wish for my daughter and for all of humanity: a reminder that we already contain inner peace, connection, and the simple gift of being stoked. Instead of one more thing to do, have, and achieve, these paintings ask for less: simply to be present, remember, and to recognize our shared humanity.
